CS® Expansion Joint Covers
ONE OF THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE RANGES IN THE WORLD
Buildings can move due to wind sway, building settlement, thermal expansion / contraction or seismic activity. In order to stop structural movement from causing damage to internal and external finishes, expansion joints are incorporated into buildings, from top to bottom and from back to front. An expansion joint is effectively a structural gap designed to accommodate the movement of a building. The gaps need to be covered to make them safe and aesthetically appealing. CS offer an extensive range of Expansion Joint Covers (EJCs) available for FLOORS; WALLS & CEILINGS; PARKING AREAS; BUILDING EXTERIORS.

MORE ABOUT EXPANSION JOINT COVERS
Expansion Joint Covers (EJCs) provide a covered transition across the expansion joint opening and play an important role in making these structural gaps safe, seamless and aesthetically appealing. Each building will call for specific requirements when it comes to EJCs. Two building examples are given as follows:
HOSPITALS
Hospitals would likely require a flush floor finish to allow for wheeled traffic, along with a rubber seal to ensure that infection control is maintained.
AIRPORTS
Airports would likely require a strong, hard wearing and tamper-proof joint that will usually be all metal.
